Our partner approached Noventay with complaints that traditional screening and sorting methods were insufficient on a high-tonnage production line, leading to the oversight of stained or defective products and a final product quality that failed to meet export standards. Manual or outdated mechanical systems were not only increasing labor costs but also leading to significant waste of high-quality raw materials. The goal was to integrate an optical sorting line capable of flawlessly scanning tons of product flowing per hour within milliseconds, while adhering to HACCP and ISO 22000 food safety standards.
Leveraging our 25 years of on-site process experience, Noventay Advanced Technology Solutions analyzed the factory’s existing production line and implemented a customized color sorting project optimized for the product:
High-Resolution Camera and Sensor Integration: The color sorting machines we integrated into the facility are equipped with the latest generation of high-resolution industrial cameras. This enables the immediate detection of micro-level color defects, stains, chalky, or unripe products that the human eye cannot discern.
Smart Ejector and Minimum Waste System: Defective products and foreign objects (stones, glass, plastic, etc.) detected by the system are ejected from the line via ultra-fast millisecond-level air jets (ejectors) inside the machine. Thanks to specialized software optimization, damage to good products during ejection is prevented, and product waste is minimized.
Full Line Integration and Protection: To prevent damage to the color sorting machine’s sensitive optical lenses and ejectors, we installed Noventay Neodymium Magnet blocks with high magnetic pull at the machine’s inlet. This ensures that metal shavings in the raw material are captured before reaching the optical system. Additionally, a powerful Jet-Filter Aspiration system was integrated into the line to resolve dust issues during the process.
Achieved Results Following the completion of the color sorting project, our partner achieved a purity level of 99.9% in the final product. While product loss (waste) was drastically reduced, manual sorting labor was eliminated entirely. The facility successfully passed the strictest global food inspections, gaining the capability to export high-quality products to global markets.
